We have lost the public engagement with street activism because people are cocooned in various forms of media entertainment. Television does not allow for response, as Baudrillard rightfully points out in Requiem for the Media, but rather absorption of information that is seldom critically engaged with. We need to bring back interaction with the media and criticism of it, rather than blindly following it.
